Patty Atkins

After a very distinguished career in nursing capped by receiving the nation's highest award for performance excellence, Patty Atkins realized what she wanted to do next was return to her first love - the ever challenging game of golf. After all, she had been playing since the age of eight and received some of her first lessons from one of the sports all-time legends, Johnny Goodman. The last amateur to win the US Open, he was also Patty's great uncle. Racking up some early triumphs on the golf course taught Patty that the game of golf can be one of life's great teachers. She credits her personal accomplishments in school and business with a firm foundation in the physical discipline and social skills first honed on the courses in Omaha, Nebraska.

Patty retired from nursing to attend the Golf Academy of America, graduating at the top of her class in 2009. Her background in nursing, education, and corporate healthcare comes into play each time Patty meets students with varied skill levels. Two decades of caring for others has given Patty the patience needed to work with beginners while her unending need to be the best at whatever she does makes Patty the perfect instructor for those wanting to sharpen their edge on the course.

Patty's a proven efficiency expert who knows precisely how to evaluate a golfer's game. And she's passionate about golf opening many doors for women. Mastering the rules, etiquette and physical challenges of the game combined with an appreciation for the beauty and design of the course can give women an edge on the job and in building a social network. Patty knows from experience that golf can empower women. It's not only great exercise, but a confidence booster as well.

When it comes to performance excellence, Patty Atkins knows her game. She hopes to share her love of golf with an ever widening sphere from first timers to scratch players.
